Creamy Cheddar Cheese Sauce

Ingredients - to make 2 cups sauce:
3 tablespoons butter
3 tablespoons flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
ground black pepper to taste
1/2 cup heavy cream
1 cup whole milk
1 cup Cheddar cheese, grated

Instructions:
In a large saucepan, melt butter; remove from heat.
Stir in flour, salt and pepper. Slowly add heavy cream and whole milk, constantly stirring.
Cook over low heat, while continuing to stir.
When mixture is completely blended, add cheese.
Sauce is ready when mixture thickens and is smooth.
Serve with pasta, cooked cubed potatoes or vegetables.
